In the third quarter of 2018, a total of 1,154 megawatts of large-scale installations were installed, down 43 percent from 2013 megawatts installed in the third quarter of 2017 and 7 percent from 1,244 megawa -tts installed in the second quarter of 2018, according to a report by consulting firm Mercom.2%.In addit tion, the number of rooftop installations in q3 2018 was 435 megawatts, a 64 percent increase from the 265 megawatts installed in q3 2017 and a 5 percent increase from the 415 megawatts installed in q2 2018.

Overall, the cumulative installed solar capacity at the end of q3 2018 totaled 26,000 megawatts, with large solar projects accounting for 89% and rooftop solar for the remaining 11%.Mercom forecasts the total installed solar capacity for the 2018 calendar year to be about 8,000 megawatts.
