India's general administration of trade remedy (DGTR) has proposed imposing anti-dumping duties on imports of toughened coated and uncoated solar glass with textures from Malaysia, foreign media report -ed.The proposal was filed by Borosil Glass, India's only domestic producer of solar Glass.
In 2017, after Borosil filed a similar petition, toughened glass from China was subject to anti-dumping duties ranging from $64.04 to $136.21 per metric ton,the authorities recommend a five-year anti-dump -ing duty on imports of solar glass from Malaysia," "the DGTR said in a notice following the investigation.
The decision to impose the tariffs will be left to the Treasury.

The DGTR investigated on the basis of evidence presented by Borosil to determine the impact of the alleged dumping of Malaysian solar glass and recommended the imposition of anti-dumping duties to eliminate the alleged harm to domestic manufacturers.
The DGTR found that indian-made solar glass was comparable in physical properties to solar glass imported from Malaysia, and that both could be replaced technically and commercially.
