Butterflies are beautiful, delicate creatures -- and sensitive to climate change. So when the architect was designing for the tropical butterfly garden in Konya, Turkey, it became crucial to ensure that the tempera -ture and humidity inside the museum were maintained in a good range.
The museum has 1,600 square meters of Europe's large butterfly flying area. There are about 6,000 butt -erflies of 15 species in the museum. In addition, the museum contains 98 tropical rainforest plants totalin -g nearly 20,000.

The interior environment of Konya butterfly garden is required to maintain at 26 c and the humidity must reach 80%. Konya is located in the continental climate zone, with large temperature difference bet -ween winter and summer. The overall area of the exhibition hall is also up to 380,000 square meters. The difficulty of maintaining a constant temperature in such a large, glass-clad building and creating a tropic -cal climate is obvious.
For this purpose, the architects chose the Guardian SunGuard ® SNX 60/28 glass products. The prod -uct has a natural light transmittance of 60% and can reflect 72% of the sun's heat -- providing support for people to accurately adjust the temperature inside the building.
