E.on of germany is building European rooftop solar power stations for audi
German utility e.con is to deploy a 12-megawatt rooftop solar project in humgary for carmaker auti,the largest rooftop solar photovoltaic project in Europe to date.
Specifically,e.on will install about 35,000 solar panels on the roofs of two logistics centers at audi's fact -ory in gyor,hungary.The system will cover about 160,000 square meters(1.72 million square feet).
Construction will begin in August 2019 and be completed by early 2020.When completed,the solar pa -rk will generate more than 9 solar cells per year.5 gigawatt hours of electricity.
“About 70 percent of audi Hungray’s thermal demand is already met by geothermal energy.Our goal is to have fully co2 neutral plant operations in the future,”said Achim Heinfling,president of audi hungary's governing council.
Audi also revealed that the grounp aims to have zero climate load at all production sits by 2030.
