The Difference Between PDLC Smart Privacy Glass & PDLC Film
With the continuous advancement of technology and the continuous reduction of costs, the application of smart glass and PDLC film is getting closer and closer to our daily lives, such as offices, hotels, banks, hospitals, exhibition halls, clubs and even home improvement. There is a wide range of applications, but how to choose the two products of smart glass and PDLC film, which requires us to clarify the difference between the two products, and choose the right product according to the different application requirements, in order to better achieve the expected effect.

PDLC Films

Smart Glass
Difference between Smart Glass & PDLC film are as below:
1) The first point is the cost. The dimming glass is made by adding two original tempered glass sheets and two special EVA films on the basis of the dimming film, through a series of process technologies such as high temperature and high pressure, laminating, and vacuum. The finished dimming glass increases the cost of the original tempered glass, EVA special film and glass processing compared with the dimming film, so the price will be relatively more expensive, and the dimming film is relatively cheaper.
2) The second point is transportation. The dimming glass is a glass fragile product, which has certain risks in transportation, and the larger the size, the heavier the weight. Wooden boxes must be packed for shipment, and certain wooden box fees and freight must be paid. . The dimming film is a film material with a soft texture and can be directly packaged in rolls. It is small in size, low in freight, and relatively safe and convenient to transport. In this regard, Migo Glass currently has stable cooperation with professional logistics and transportation companies and can be packaged and shipped to ensure that the dimming glass is completely delivered to the customer, and if it is damaged during transportation, it can be returned or exchanged, so that customers can rest assured.
3)The third point is the installation. In addition to the wiring of the dimming glass, additional layout planning is required. The other installation procedures are basically the same as the ordinary glass installation method, and the installation is relatively simple; while the filming process of the self-adhesive dimming film is relatively complicated. Some require that the surface of the glass to be pasted be cleaned, and leveled before pasting the film, with the skilled operator's skills, paying attention to the detail of pasting, dry pasting is completed, and the overall installation is relatively complicated.
4) The last point is the use and maintenance. The dimming glass is made of two original sheets of tempered glass and a dimming film. On both sides of the dimming film, there is tempered glass as a form of protection. The strength and hardness are relatively both. It is relatively high and difficult to be damaged by man-made. Since the self-adhesive dimming film is directly attached to one side of ordinary glass in the form of a film, the dimming film itself is exposed to the outside, so it is necessary to avoid being hard or sharp when using it. The object is scratched. In terms of post-maintenance, the dimming glass can be cleaned and maintained like ordinary glass, while the dimming film requires special cleaning and maintenance methods to avoid contact with acidic or alkaline substances and water, so the relative maintenance is slightly more troublesome.
In summary, the smart glass and the PDLC film have their own advantages. Simply summarize that the cost of the smart glass is higher and the transportation is more troublesome, but it is convenient to install and has high safety; although the cost of the PDLC film is low, the installation is more troublesome and relatively poor in safety, but it is still recommended to choose a more suitable product according to the project situation in order to maximize the cost performance.
