After nearly 40 years of development, the hollow glass market has gradually matured. With china's attention to building energy conservation, the quality of hollow glass has been put on the agenda. How can we create high-quality hollow glass?


At present, there are three main types of hollow glass: 1, slot aluminum single-way seal; 2, slot aluminum two-way seal; 3, composite sealant strip hollow glass


Here's a quick share of the 5 elements that affect the quality of hollow glass.


First, the selection of the original piece of glass


1, the manufacture of a hollow glass of the original glass can be colorless float glass, coated glass, tempered glass, laminated glass and so on. Should avoid the use of ordinary flat glass, ordinary flat glass transparency and strength are not up to the requirements. The above-mentioned glass originals must meet the requirements of the corresponding standards, after passing the test before they can be used.


2, different manufacturers of different batches of glass before cutting the first check for color difference.


3, glass cutting size, should be strictly implemented in accordance with the requirements of the drawings, while the operator should pay attention to the glass surface, no scratches, bubbles and other obvious defects.


Second, aluminum bars, corner selection


1, the thickness of the aluminum bar should be between 0.3-0.35mm, the thickness should be uniform, breathable hole distribution is uniform. Aluminum bars must be anode oxidation treatment or de-contamination treatment needs to bend, must choose good quality, high-grade products. Improve the utilization rate of aluminum bars.


2, angle size to be selected, the surface to wipe clean.


Third, the use of desiccant


There are currently three main types of desiccants used in hollow glass:


1, the absorption capacity of volatiles is better;


2, the lowest adsorption of inert gas;


3, ordinary molecular sieve.


Users should choose the right molecular sieve according to their own needs, at the same time the molecular sieve should have the appropriate granularity (1mm-2mm) and hardness. In addition, the environment using molecular sieve should be dry, filling molecules should be used within 1.5 hours to ensure the quality of hollow glass.


Fourth, the selection of sealant


1, butyl glue: butyl glue is the first seal of aluminum strip hollow glass, it is a kind of thermal melting glue, with a very low water vapor pass rate (the lowest in hollow glass glue) high viscosity, is the aluminum side and glass between the most effective barrier of water vapor, but it needs to be heated by a special machine, pressurized, extruded coating on both sides of the aluminum strip. At present, domestic butyl glue manufacturers more, but each production of glue, heating temperature, pressure are not the same, some manufacturers of butyl glue can not even be used machine coating, often due to impurities caused by the interruption. This requires users to choose a good quality product while understanding its use requirements.


2, poly sulfur glue: poly sulfur glue is currently the largest amount of hollow glass sealant, poly sulfur gel has good oil resistance, solubility and sealing. Polysulfur glue should have metal oxides as curing agents to use polymerization, two ingredients ratio of about 1:10, with the ratio and uniformity of the effect is not too great, so the glue can be machine-coated can also be manually painted. The selection requirements for poly sulfur glue are: the color difference between the two groups is clear, the validity period is more than half a year, the UV resistance is strong, and there is good fluidity and curing elasticity.


3, silicone gel: silicone sealant has structural, anti-aging and anti-ultraviolet properties, but its weakness is the high rate of water vapor through. Therefore, silicone gel is suitable for strong lighting, poor environment, such as a glass curtain wall, etc., at the same time must use butyl glue to do the first seal. Silicone gel, in the past, China's long-term dependence on imports, the State Economic and Trade Commission has set up a special leadership group of silicone gel, structural glue safety certification. At present, there are a number of domestic enterprises through certification.


Fifth, the use of composite sealant strips


Composite sealant strip is a composite sealing material developed by American chemists in the 1980s. It is a support skeleton (wave-shaped aluminum belt), seal (butyl glue), drying (desiccant) in one of the hollow glass raw materials, the biggest advantage is the simple operation process, less waste of raw materials, fewer personnel, low management costs, good operating environment; At present, the price of the strip is limited by the yield, the choice of composite sealant strip, to consider the surface finish, aluminum belt quality, the content of the glue, viscosity is moderate.
