Products Description
Water pattern glass, or water rippled patterned glass, is a decorative flat glass made via rolling. While the glass remains soft before solidification, patterned rollers imprint water ripple textures on its surface.
Production process: The soda-lime-silica glass is conveyed and evenly heated to 700–800°C. Corrugated rollers are used for embossing, with roller gaps adjusted based on glass thickness. The shaped glass is gradually cooled from 800–700°C to 480–520°C within 1–4 minutes, then fully cooled down to room temperature.
Performance characteristics
a. High hardness with low tensile strength
This material is classified as brittle material and features excellent compression resistance. Its hardness is higher than common metals. For processing such as grinding and polishing, abrasives and tools must be selected in accordance with the hardness properties of glass.
b. Optical & Electrical Properties
It boasts high light transmittance and good infrared permeability, while blocking most ultraviolet rays. At room temperature, patterned glass is a poor electrical conductor. Its conductivity rises sharply as temperature increases, and it becomes highly conductive when melted.
c. Excellent Chemical Stability
The material delivers stable chemical performance. It offers strong resistance to acid corrosion, but has limited tolerance to alkaline substances.
