The U.S. PPI for December reported higher prices for glass and glass materials than a year earlier The PPI for flat glass products fell 0.2 percent in December from a month earlier,but rose 1.3 percent from a year earlier, according to the bureau of labor statistics.
The PPI for the flat-glass manufacturing sector fell 0.3 per cent in December,continuing a downward trend last month but still 2.1 per cent higher than a year earlier.
Prices for processed metals fell 0.2 percent in December.In the commodity category,the PPI for proc -essed metals rose 7.9 per cent from last year.After rising 3.8 percent in November,prices for decorative and construction metals fell 0.1 percent in December,but were 7.8 percent higher than a year earlier.

The PPI for metal window products fell 0.2 percent in December, up 10.9 percent from a year earlier. The PPI for metal door and frame products was flat in December from the previous month and up 6 perc -ent from a year earlier.
The cost of building hardware products, including accessories used to make glass and glass materials, rose 0.5 percent in December and was 3.5 percent higher overall than a year earlier.
