Processing Technology of Anti-Glare Glass

AG glass, also called anti-reflective glass and anti-glare glass, is a type of glass that is specially processed on the surface of the glass. Its characteristic is to change the reflective surface of the original glass into a matte non-reflective surface (the surface is uneven). The principle is to subject both sides or one side of high-quality glass sheets to special processing. Compared with ordinary glass, it has a lower reflectance. The reflectance of light is reduced from 8% to less than 1%. The technology creates a clear and transparent visual effect.

AG glass produced by different processing techniques has different glass effects. AG glass has three processing techniques, namely spraying AG, coating AG, and chemical etching AG.


1. Spraying AG, spraying AG is spraying to the glass surface through spraying equipment, and attaching a layer of coating surface to the glass surface to achieve the effect of anti-glare. Spraying is a coating method in which spray guns or disc atomizers are used to disperse into uniform and fine droplets by means of pressure or centrifugal force and apply to the surface of the object to be coated. The advantage is that the processing technology is convenient and fast, the production efficiency is high, and high-quality products with different gloss and haze can be easily processed.


2. Coating AG, AG coating (anti-glare coating) This is an atomized coating technology. The processing technology of the coating AG determines that its hardness value is difficult to change. The coating AG is scratched after a period of use, and the handwriting feel is not far from the general handwriting on paper. Therefore, its scope of application is limited. Later, the requirements for AG glass became higher and higher, and the coated AG gradually faded out of the market.


3. Chemically etched AG is made by special chemical process treatment. Its characteristic is to change the reflective surface of the original glass into a matte diffuse reflective surface. It can blur the effect of reflection, prevent glare and reduce the degree of reflection, reducing light and shadow. The anti-glare product has strong surface anti-corrosion and anti-scratch performance. Solve the problem of reflection and glare caused by electronic video screens and video screens under ambient light sources. Etching AG is chemical etching, the glass surface is still glass, and the product life is equivalent to that of general tempered glass. The particles on the etching surface are uniform, which cannot be achieved by the first two processes. The roughness range of etching AG can be between 0.08-2.0, the gloss can be up to 150, and the transmittance is above 20%-90%, which is comparable to the transmittance of smooth glass.
