How tempered glass is heat soaked?

Feb 21, 2024

The processing process of heat soaking tempered glass typically involves the following steps:

  • Selection of tempered glass panels: High-quality tempered glass panels are selected for the heat soaking process. These panels have been previously tempered to increase their strength and safety.
  • Preparing the oven: The tempered glass panels are carefully loaded into a specialized heat soaking oven, ensuring that they are evenly spaced and not touching each other.
  • Heating the glass: The oven is heated to a specific temperature, typically around 280 degrees Celsius. The glass panels are then subjected to this high temperature for a predetermined period of time, usually several hours.
  • Cooling the glass: After the heat soaking period is complete, the oven is gradually cooled down to room temperature. This slow cooling process helps to relieve any internal stresses in the glass caused by the heating process.
  • Inspection: Once the glass panels have cooled, they are carefully inspected for any signs of breakage or defects. Any panels that have shattered during the heat soaking process are removed from the batch.
  • Packaging and storage: The heat-soaked tempered glass panels that have passed inspection are carefully packaged and stored for further processing or installation.

Overall, the heat soaking process helps to reduce the risk of spontaneous breakage in tempered glass panels by identifying and eliminating any potential defects. This can help to ensure the safety and durability of the glass in various applications.
