Different Workmanship on the Glass Corner and Edge Treatment

Dec 03, 2025

The glass edges and corners treatment is a crucial step in the glass processing, significantly influencing both aesthetics and functionality. In the Migo Glass workshop, two primary methods are commonly used: traditional edge treatment machine and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) edge grinding.

What is the difference between them?

1. Traditional Edging Machine
Traditional edging machine is widely used for standard applications, such as flat glass for windows or furniture.

They can make the edge treatment like:

Polished edges
grounded edges
C-edges

The advantage of this edge treatment way is that it works fast, production cost lower and it can mostly satisfy all the edge treatment.

2. CNC Machine
CNC edging machine represents a more advanced approach, offering superior precision and aesthetics. This method uses computer-controlled machines to grind both edges and corners in a single, seamless process, creating a smooth, continuous finish without visible connection points. This results in a more polished and visually appealing product.

CNC technology ensures consistent quality, making it ideal for high-end applications like architectural glass, luxury furniture, or automotive glass.

Due to the CNC precision, it is not as efficient as traditional Edging Machine, thus the production cost is much higher.

While traditional edge grinding remains a practical choice for everyday glass products, CNC edge grinding offers unmatched precision and aesthetics. Migo Glass provides both options to satisfy customers' customized glass processing requirements.
