1. What is Ice Hockey Rink Tempered Glass?

Tempered Glass for Hockey Rinks is a high-strength safety glass, mainly used in ice hockey rink enclosure systems, which can withstand high-speed ice hockey (speeds of up to 160km/h or more) and the violent impact of athletes. 2. Production process of tempered glass

• Cutting glass sheets

First, use high-quality float glass plates and accurately cut them according to the size required by the customer. When cutting, the edges must be smooth, without chipping or cracks, otherwise it will affect the tempering effect later.

 

• Edge grinding

The edges and corners of the cut glass should be finely polished to remove small cracks and stress concentration points. Glass with polished edges is safer and can greatly reduce the risk of self-explosion during tempering.

 

• Washing glass

Before entering the tempering furnace, the glass must be thoroughly cleaned, and no dust or oil stains can be left on the surface. Dry it immediately after washing to ensure that the glass is clean before entering the furnace, otherwise there will be defects after tempering.

 

• Key steps of tempering

The glass is sent into a high-temperature furnace at about 700℃ to burn through, and then suddenly blown with cold air (this is called wind quenching). This cold and hot combination forms a super-strong stress layer on the surface of the glass, and its impact resistance is 4-5 times stronger than that of ordinary glass.

 

• Strict quality inspection

The tempered glass has to go through several tests: hit it with heavy objects to see if it is impact-resistant, check whether the debris is small particles, measure the light transmittance, etc. Only those that pass international standards (such as EN 12150) can be packaged.

 

• Packaging and delivery
