FCL stands for Full Container Load, which means that the entire container is filled with goods belonging to one shipper.
LCL stands for Less than Container Load, which means that the goods of multiple shippers are consolidated into one container.
There are three reasons why the LCL shipment is not available for big glass sheet.
Reason one: It is known that raw glass sheets regular size is 3300*2140 or 2440*1830, or other big sizes, considering the glass safety and loading/unloading capacity, one crate weight is around 2.7t, the crate width is very narrow, thus it requires special fixing in the container for each crate, otherwise the crate will topple and very dangerous. while the LCL shipment doesn't allow any container fixing works.
Reason Two: glass is a fragile product, without knowing what is the other items in the same container, the glass may be broken by them, which is uncontrolled when LCL shipment.
Reason Three: For FCL shipping, the container will be almost full, the very less space will help the crate stands still.
For smaller sizes, LCL shipment is available, Migo Glass will provide the stronger full crate package, but the package cost and shipping cost will be higher.
