The biggest difference between back painted glass and silk-screen printed glass is whether the glass is tempered glass.
Back painted glass is made from raw glass sheets, it is annealed glass, can be cut into any smaller sizes according to customers’ request.
While silk-screen printed glass has to be heat tempering after oil ink is coated on one side of glass, because only after tempering process can the ink be fused with glass surface. The high temperature in tempering furnace 680-720 degrees will guarantee the color won't fad or fall off the glass surface with times. So the size of silk-screen printed glass has to be confirmed before it is produced. After tempering process, glass can not be cut again.
When it comes to the prices, back painted glass is much cheaper than silk-screen printed glass.
Back painted glass is widely used in kitchen cabinet doors while slik-screen printed glass is widely used as backsplash wall in kitchen.
